I started riding my bicycle to work about a year ago. I like to think I'm over the steepest part of the learning curve and might have some wisdom to impart on those who are considering trying to leave the car parked during the work week in favor of riding to work. Hopefully what I share will be helpful to at least one other person.
For those of you who commute on your bikes, feel free to contact me about becoming a contributor. I've learned a few things along the way, but I sure don't know everything. Also, I am in Fort Worth, Texas, so the weather here is rather mild compared to much of the country, especially during the winter. I'd love to get the insight of some of the real hardcore winter commuters on this blog.
One thing I'd like to get some help with right away is to have some different views on how to select a commuter bike. I've taken the approach of just modifying what I've got to fit the need, but I know there are some great bikes out there that can do the job right out of the store. If anyone wants to write a post about bicycle selection, let me know.
Step 1: Wear a helmet! (I'll explain why later in another post.)

Good looking blog. Good luck with it!
Thanks! Look for lots of new stuff over the next few days.
Enjoy the ride, mon ami!
Cheers! Bruce
Love the blog. I'm just getting back into biking myself. I'm retiring soon so I won't be commuting but I will be riding wherever I can.
The wife and I just bought Giant FCR2's and we love them. Much better on the road than our Gary Fisher MTB's.
Good luck.

Very nice blog. I've been cycle commuting in Tarrant County for a bit over a year now so it's exactly in line with a bike blog that would attract me.
I ride from Colleyville to Haltom City so our paths aren't likely to cross, but who knows?
