Bike to Work participants are invited to gather at the Intermodal Transportation Center at Ninth and Jones streets following their bike ride to work for a special bus, train and bike-rack presentation. Learn how the bus or train can help make bicycling a viable alternative, even for commuters who travel long distances. Free snacks will be provided from 7-9 a.m. for all bicycle riders.
Read more about it here. This event is part of Bike to Work Week (May 17-21) sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists. To learn more about Fort Worth's bicycle plan, click here.

I would LOVE to hear Fort Worth tell me how the bus can help make bicycling a viable alternative to get to Fort Worth Alliance Airport!
"The weather for Friday, May 21, should be warm with a light breeze..."
I am always intrigued by these statements. It is impossible to predict weather patterns more than a few days into the future. Attempting to do so out twenty-two days is pure folly.
"Bike to Work participants are invited to gather at the [ITC] following their bike ride to work for a special ... presentation."
This invitation is rather specious. If one is biking to work, do they not have an obligation to do their job upon arrival at their place of employment? The point of BTWD is not to play hooky and loiter around the ITC. It is to show solidarity and support for a particular alternative mode of transit to and from work.
Meh. Don't be such a wet blanket, velociped. I actually had that day off last year. I rode for the fun of it and had a good time. I rode with Betsy Price, the tax assessor. She's a nice lady.
This year I have to work but I still hope to ride to the event, even though my workplace is over 10 miles away. I'll do the ride, then go to work. If I'm a little late, it'll be okay.
And when they say, "The weather for Friday, May 21, should be warm with a light breeze..." I agree. It should be like that; it sounds like ideal weather. ;-) (I think it's a joke.)
I bike to work every day. I know some others at my workplace often bike too, but I don't know them. I think anything that encourages people to give it a try is great. Who knows, maybe another diehard commuter will be born!

i wonder if there is a bike to work day in irving. haven't heard anything! have fun at the fw event, paul.
peace :)
Doohickie. I'm sure the weather for May 21 WILL be warm with a light to moderate breeze. It IS May in North Texas, after all. Unfortunately, it'll also be from the South, which will mean we've got a headwind on the way home...
Yeah, tell me about it. :/
